Chapter 36 - Northwest Indiana

~ Creaky Knees and Rusty Keys ~

Not a record attendance, but still a very good showing for a weekday afternoon at our late lunch meeting on February 17th at the Blue Chip Casino in Michigan City. We had 22 members and guests, and probably some of the best buffet eating in the region.

Bruce Balsley, W9OTN, received his QCWA 55-yr Anniversary Award today! It was my mistake that he didn't get it last month, sorry about that Bruce!

The contest was a hard one this month: the oldest foreign ham license. I thought we would have a few entries at least, and I thought that Bob, W9ORW, would probably be the winner with his German DL4FN from 1960 (if no one else popped in with a surprise entry). Unfortunately Bob didn't make it to this meeting, so my 1979 HL9KG from Korea was the default winner as the only entry. You can see pics of U.S. and foreign licenses of some of our members on their individual Member Pages. Also the U.S. license contest entries from last month are on the January Meeting page.
