Chapter 36 - Northwest Indiana

~ Creaky Knees and Rusty Keys ~

We had a very good turnout at the Hacienda for our May meeting with 23 members and guests attending. Thanks to Gary, WA6UOO, for bringing in some show and tell items for us to enjoy: 1) Photos and specs for a modified 10/15/20m Quad antenna, and 2) a coax cable tester that he built from a design found in QST. This was a very simple circuit and could show both open and shorts in the coax line.

I did not get any photos from this meeting, but let me post here a picture I took last month of Gene, W9CWG, when I met him and his family for breakfast in celebration of his 92nd birthday and also celebrating 70 years in Amateur Radio this year. Congratulations, Gene!

This photo should be in the June 2016 QCWA eJournal also. Click for larger view.
