Chapter 36 - Northwest Indiana

~ Creaky Knees and Rusty Keys ~

My apologies for not getting a report into the QCWA eJournal last month after our August meeting. It was a busy month, with almost two weeks spent out of town, which is quite unusual for me.

Our September meeting was a very light turnout with only 11 members and guests attending at the Golden Corral. Still, we all had a great time and a delicious meal, as we always do there.

Tom, W8FIB, brought the only show-and-tell for us... a brochure from International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 697's new apprenticeship training facility in Merrillville. This is really a state of the art site complete with solar panels, wind turbine, and electric car charging stations. These efforts help towards keeping a "green" environment in this industrial region, as well as providing the latest-greatest technologies for the apprentices to use while learning their craft. Thanks for the info, Tom! Click here to see the PDF brochure.

Sorry, no photos again this month!
