Two-way contact with the International Space Station
On Feb. 21, 2012, Stan, W4SV, again activated club call W9EGQ on packet radio, this time to bounce a signal off of the International Space Station (ISS) packet digipeater, RSØISS-4. The contact was successful on two separate passes, at 15:27 and 17:00 local time, on 145.825 simplex. A QSL was received for the 17:00 contact. See the QSL card front here and the back of the card, with QSO information here.

Chapter 36 on Packet
On Feb. 3, 2010, Stan, W4SV, activated club call W9EGQ on 2m packet radio, using 145.09 MHz. The mailbox was set to W9EGQ-1 and digipeater was via QCWA36. It was on for about two months until thunderstorm season started, but due to lack of use it was not returned to service.

THANKS to Chapter 36 members George K9WWT and Tom W8FIB, with the help of their friend John NA9U, who activated our club call sign K9QCW for the CW Sweepstakes on November 7th-8th, 2009. THANKS also to Dan W9DWS for hosting this event from his W9SAL Tower Complex. CLICK HERE! to read George's full report and see LOTS of pictures.
